I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

My trusty T2 LTD found me two really sweet relics this weekend. Not long ago I found that 1795 half dime and now this, what a year I'm having !! :headbang: Here's a few pics. The buckle is just as dug other than I brushed the sand off it, found at over a foot in the ground. The navy was all of 14 inches if not more. The site was supposedly hunted out according to the owner, the LTD was smoking!! Hope you enjoy the pics!

That is one smokin plate Pete! That thing is just absolutely gorgeous!! Congratulations on all of those finds, that Navy is exquisite too.

Don't know if you remember me but I am CC Hunters digging partner and we dug with you and Gary K., and some of your other buddies back in 2004. I go by Lucky Larry on the Depot. I have finds posted in the top finds galleries for 2003 & 2004.

Keep up the great finds Pete!

Larry
Yeah Larry I remember you and of course I remember Cal. Thanks and I hope ya'll are doing great. Pretty relics you guys are digging they're gorgeous! Take care and thanks for the nice comments,

Pete, that is the most beautiful buckle I have ever seen. You are lucky to be living in an area that consistently gives up some of the rarest and best condition relics I have ever seen. I am new to the TreasureNet but if I am able I will vote banner. Congratulations on the find of a life time. James

Thanks James I appreciate the nice comments. Yeah we're lucky SC had lots of pre civil war & civil war activity. You guys did too and it makes for plenty of good relic hunting :laughing7: Take care and good luck diggin!

I'm watching Curb Your Enthusiasm in bed, but my jaw is still by the downstairs monitor where I saw this tongue. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT IN EVERY WAY!!! I predict banner in the next few hours or so (you've got my vote, at least). :icon_thumright:

Amazing find!! Banner !!!! :notworthy:

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

Being a lowly "coin popper" I'll take everyone's word that this is rare but why no banner?? :dontknow: :dontknow: :icon_scratch:

HH all!

What cleaning method did you use to clean these up?

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

OK, AS A CIVIL WAR RELIC HUNTER FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS IN CHARLESTON SC. FINDING A SOUTH CAROLINA OFFICERS CIVIL WAR BUCKLE IS ABOUT AS TOUGH A RELIC TO FIND AS IT GETS.PERIOD. WHY THIS ISN'T ON THE BANNER BY NOW IS BEYOND ME.
HOW MANY OF THIS HAVE BEEN POSTED ON THE WEBSITE ANYWAY........0

IT IS EXTREMELY RARE!! BEAUTIFUL RELIC PETE!!!!!

WTG Pete! You always find the nicest relics! That is a rare tongue indeed and more than worthy of a Banner find! You get my vote.

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

As rare as this beauty is, not enough has been said about the condition. The odds of finding something this rare in this condition are equivalent to getting simultaneously struck by lightning and attacked by both a shark and stingray. Congratulations, again! Can't explain the banner absence, though. :dontknow:

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

Excellent relics for sure!!! No site is ever hunted out!

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

WOW!!... :headbang: That's one of my dreams. To be able to get back to my families birth place in S.C. and to go on a "Dirt Fishing" escapade. I'd like very much to locate some of those relics for myself.

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

Absolutely incredible find of a lifetime BANNER

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

You get my banner vote also. A find like that for me ( a coin popper :laughing7:) would be like finding an 1877 injun in uncirculated condition :icon_thumleft:........NGE

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

That is one rare and sweet buckle. I do not know why it is not on the banner yet. Relics
Here do not seem to get the respect they deserve. I posted a very rare button here a while
back. Like 6 known rare and it never made the banner. So get this one on the banner it is awesome

Re: I dug a South Carolina buckle this weekend !!!!!!!

I see no consistency on this site when it comes to making the banner. Would someone with the power to put it there care to tell us why this amazing find isn't up there yet? Inquiring minds want to know. :icon_scratch:
