I'm still doing a dance after today's find ! I have been trying to hunt some old areas of San Jose while I have been off work the past month . Today I hunted a place that 8-10 years ago I found a Seated half & quarter dating from the 1850's ! I have only been back once and only found a few wheats . Today I put on my 12 inch coil and started digging any iffy silver targets . After about an hour or so I had a very iffy target . It was all over the place , +50 - +80 . This is the kind of target I had been digging all morning with out any luck . This time was different ! The target was at 8 inches and when I got down to it the VDI was at +86 ! I'm thinking silver quarter ! Well it was not silver . When I saw the coin in the hole I had no clue what it was till I picked it up and saw ONE CENT big on it ! My first ever large cent
!!! It's a 1848 and in good condition I would say . I still can't believe it ! This is one from my wish list I thought I would never find . It's the happiest I have ever been to just dig a penny
. I'll be working this place again with my new MXT PRO coming next week !
