I got a new camera and its terrible!

Ive been taking pics trying to get them better. This is the best so far. Got to learn the new camera. Resent personal finds and the grinder is one of those that can go either way. Good looking rock though. HH, rock

What kind of camera is it Rock?

Vivitar I believe its a cheap one, a gift. My other one finally died and it was a Kodak it lasted 15 yrs

I knwo when i got my last 2 cameras...even my phone...They had it Defaulted to the lowest quality pics....Maybe thats it?

Maybe I am thinking the card might be bad. Ill try to get a new card on my older camera. Hate to get rid of it. I tried the new card in it but it doesnt work. It keeps saying reset card but I cant see anything wrong with it

That quartzite knife in the upper left is very nice piece but it wont take a good pic of it, sorry

I swear the iPhones have me not even carrying a camera anymore. I still have an old kodak to bad they went away who would have thought. My brother shoots Nikons but he makes money with his.

Rock, I checked the EXIF data for the pics, and everything looks
to be set properly (ie:white balance, etc.). It used a 1/20th.s
exposure, so it could be the camera is light starved. Try taking
the same pics with the flash on and see if there's improvement.

I believe it is a heat treated quartzite but dont know for sure. Sure is nice material.

TN, which iPhone do you use? I just got the 5S and the camera is unreal! I jailbroke it and was able to tweak the camera a little more! Cameras are obsolete unless you are a photographer. I also have an app called mag light. This app allows you to magnify artifacts, set the brightness on your flash for the perfect magnification and you can take pics with it. Here is a magnified pic of the hole in one of the fake banners I got burned on.



I'm still not good with the app. I've seen some people that can use it. It's great!

I'm sure your camera is just fine. You most likely just need to get better accustomed to it and as they say practice make perfect. If it is a digital camera you should be able to delete the photos that are not focused?

You might be rite OD just have to practice a bit. Im use to a automatic zoom not a manual one. I did some new pics its getting better.

I am still using the first generation with all the iOS upgrades. My brother is a professional photographer and shoots for magazines and does a lot of in situ's in light tents. He hates shooting any artifacts or me. His camera is set up for it but for it to be a great picture it has to be shot in layers then stacked. lol For me sunshine shows best. One day i will post my best artifact when I get the right picture to not do so would be an injustice haha. Cant believe you hi jacked your phone and I hi jacked Rocks thread!

use your auto focus by lightly pressing the shoot button down until you feel slight resistance and see a square.......then follow through and snap the image

i hope you don't think i am trying to act like a pro here rock just trying to help

the whole time i have posted here on tnet i have used a Canon 11 megapixel which cost about 100 bucks and it has always worked pretty well for me

Yes other then that, all I'd do is a little photo editing
till I was satisfied color & detail are as sharp & accurate as possible

Im still trying to set the camera. My old one did it all for me. The new ones are very different. It will take some getting use to thats for sure. My old camera the darn card must of broke a piece off inside otherwise it would work fine. I got a new card and it says the same thing so Im guess it is broke. Thanks for the help, rock
