Just take a friend with you ...that you can out run

They sneak up from behind...ambush predators. One was in my front lawn last August, in MARYLAND, trying to snag one of the 5 or so deer standing in my driveway. I chased it into the woods with my fire engine red Impala! That was a scene! I cut a lot of bushes back from the house within the last year and have a LOT of motion lights outside now.

No, Bigfoot would have left empty beer cans around. Or a keg. They drink a lot.

You're lucky! If it had been my Ex#2, no gun would have helped you, and we wouldn't be typing right now.:laughing7:

G.A.P. is right, but the sad thing for me is that "I" am "the" friend they take........

the friend i gonna take has two barrels and named 12 gauge

there was a time when jaguars could be found in Texas, NM etc. We even have stories from people seeing one carrying a pig on the mountain behind my father's home back around 1900. Mountain lions are found just about everywhere in North America, just more so in some areas. And yes, they are back stalkers like most big cats (tigers). I distrust them a lot more than I do our black bears. We also have an owl that will make the hair stand on your head.

Did it sound like a little girl screaming? That, or a baby is the way I'd describe their sound. Definitely freaks you right out.... especially when youre alone.... in the woods.... at night :censored:

yea it kinda did but way more louder

A bobcat can sound like a bloody murder is going on.
Had one screaming behind the farm one fall night and went out to check my fox sets for the woman who was caught in one and being stabbed by an unknown assailant.....To find nothing but my hair on end.

We heard one scream in the Wichita Mountains years ago. It wasn't a bobcat, cause I'm pretty familiar with them. Uncle told me about one tracking them off to the side of the trail in SE Oklahoma. It would scream every so often and it was all they could do to keep their horses under control. Funny thing, I now live in country where there are indeed mountain lions (for years DOW denied they were in Oklahoma) and I've never heard one scream or seen one in the flesh. I'm sure they've seen me and luckily they let me pass on by.

ummmmmmmmmm ! let me guess ? go home yankee !

Could have been a rabbit getting killed as well. They make a pretty horrifying racket when they get snagged sometimes. If it was a mountain lion take care to avoid putting yourself in danger.

O swell, I'm going off into the woods today with a friend, the older I get, the more sissy I become, oh well.....I'm going anyway. Nice kitty.
