i think my best owl---now W/TWO more of the other ones for comparison

i really got lucky
i found these pieces all in a matter of four feet
i have only found about 4 owl faces in my life and i think this could be the favorite
i did the nature dance four times in fifteen minutes

now here are a few more images for comparison that i added
after lookin' at them i believe i like the one i just found
i think i might have another one or two, maybe russy will help me find them...... (unless he's ticked off at me for wut i said in the desktop background post)

Great looking finds Steve. That is a very nice Owl Face on the Pottery Shard, but I have to say I like the Shell Pendant the best.

Steve, You find some of the most interesting artifact's that I have ever seen. It would been great to see a whole piece with those designs, to see what it would have looked like. I wonder how much this type of design was used ? I agree that pendent is great. Thank's for posting these photo's I always enjoy seeing what you have found.

Cool finds Steve, but I'm with SRV. That pendant is awesome.

You should try Dunlop picks. They aren't as "clackitty" and wear out half as fast.

the pendent is only about the 6th one found in 20 plus yrs, it is made of very, very hard stone, i dont know what find
the others were made of similar material but greener, i think maybe jade? but i wish i could find out

that is a cool vase, i have one small one that is about 85% complete and has similar designs
jonzey, i hate those fender picks also
the flat picks i use i bought 35 yrs ago and are real tortise shell are great and still show almost zero wear
you know jonzey that i am a blues finger picker mostly and it is just too cool meeting some fellow blues gtr players on this site......way cool

i play martin and yes you guessed it, larson (which is where i got my computer name from) guitars i have about 20 of them but not quite old enuff.....mine are from the 1930's

I wondered where the 'larson' came from, can't beat the blues :headbang:

and you know I love the owl artwork. Only 6 pendants in all those years? I wonder what the stone is, pretty rare for them? maybe really treasured? Nice finds!

yes only six in all these yrs
should i try to post some of the others?
some are more green and i have been told that they could be jade
funny thing w/only 6 in 20 plus yrs russy and me each found one within 3 seconds of each other about 8 feet apart which was in 2009
yes my name ain't larson but i was born in 1951 and am a guitar player using martin and larson gtrs from the 30's that's why it is larson1951, know mean?

Steve, the stone may be amazonite which can often be found in the gravels of streambeds located on the Plains. The source of these gravels are Rocky Mountain outwash gravels.
The color of amazonite can vary from light green to dark green.
