.......Working a lot, many, many hours. Have not been
out with the metal detector or in the woods since
9 Jan. of this year. Don’t think I will be doing half
the detecting I did last year. Life can suck some time.
After work today decided to give it a short shot just
for the fresh air.
Worked an area of Illinois east of Hwy 57 east to Old
Monee Road; south of Sauk Trail, and down to the town
of Monee. Not into any real woods; just checking out some
areas I noticed were sort of forgotten. Small strips.
Started out at an old park in Monee, Fireman Park.
Few bucks in clad. Soil was wet in all areas I went
into and also some were still frozen.
This is an old building, (all boarded up), on the grounds
and I can see them, in my mind, having a night concert
on the front of the building in the30's or 40’s. Was
hoping for some silver but no luck.
Checked out an old road area that came to an end
when Hwy 57 was put in. You can see the new
overpass road on the left.
Empty farm area next to the above road. Housing
development in the background.
Old well I came across.
Driving along and seeing evergreens in this part of
Illinois mean an old house site.
Found the old foundation, not much, metal odds
and ends.
But…………………………..
Another housing development down a way and
across an old field, someone must have been
practicing their swing
Not much on the finds today.
Think the best find of the day was this what-a-something.
Has a nipple near the top; small, metal, could be brass.
1 ¾ inch high.
Take that back about not knowing what it is.
Woman has decided it is now a small vase for holding
small flowers and other living things.

We will not argue

Like I said, not out for a long time, so even without
any really neat finds, had a good time
all have a good un................
