Started this week off with the girls day out. Four girls diggin up Cullman! :D

Found a bunch of change a heart and a kiddie ring. One little spot had seven quarters and a couple of them had been hit by the lawnmower. Can't believe I found both halves. Had LOTS of fun!

Next couple of days I spent revisiting some of my favorite spots....

The only thing exciting about this trip was the barn was stocked and like me, ready for winter!

Went up to the church one day to mosey around and take in the view, nothing but change, but spotted this poor tree! :P

Then back to the ballpark. Decided that since I had already hit every park in the area, I may as well go to the boys field. I found one silver ring that had been hit by the lawnmower :-\ a little heart locket and $4.00.

This morning Lisa and I went to a new site that we had permission for. Looking over all the old maps there appeared to never had been any structures there, but thought we'd try anyhow. And as expected it was pretty quiet. :-\ But...ya never know till ya try.

We decided to hit the old 'hunted out' site. Riding up the dirt road we noticed something different about the historical house that's being renovated.

I recommend that unless you are a lumberjack, leave it alone! :P Yep...a do-it-yourselfer! What a shame. Totally ruined the house. :'( I bet this tree was over 200 years old! Now it's gone and so the house will be too.
After getting over the shock of seeing this we went down to the 'cut-out' spot. Wasn't there but maybe five minutes and got one of those hits that seem strange, but you just have to dig it to see what it is. Reads iron, then a bleep of something positive. Three inches it says, so I dig. Most of you know what I have had on my "GOTTA FIND" list for the year.....AND I FOUND IT!!!

FINALLY!!! I dig the hole...see a bit of silver....looks like the size of a dime. I start yelling for Lisa and she comes running over. I can't see worth anything so I hand it to her and impatiently wait for her to tell me..."Well..it's a dime alright..and looks like it's got a lady on it!" Oh my gosh! I go running for the back of the car to sprinkle it with water so's we can see a date. She says,
"1905 BARBER!"

Woohoo! I finally got that one off my list! ;) A 1905O Barber dime.
Ended up being a fantastic week! I couldn't wait to share it with ya. :)

Nice post, Nana! Four babes out detecting is not seen very often. WTG on the Barber!

KirkPA was thinking the same thing I was! ;) Great Barber also!

Also, the one good thing about about trying to pinch pennies and cutting down down a 200 year old tree yourself and having it land on your house..........you only do it once. :D

Congrats on your 1st Barber dime! Looks like Yin/Yang survived the mower pretty well. Looks like the 4 of you had a blast. 8)
It's a shame the tree had to come down. Wanna bet the next time the so-called lumberjack cuts a tree down, he yells, "Lumber"!! ;) BTW, if the house goes, check inside the foundation. No telling what he might have knocked loose.

Wow!! :o Fantasic barber Nana....WTG! Great pics too! I've only found one "O" barber dime on the fort and that was last year around February. Love those barbers!

Nice finds, Nana!

Congrats on the barber.

Cool post, it's a shame about the house. :'(

Thanks for sharing.

Great Post Nana, love the photos and so happy to see another gal getting a first this year. 2007 has been exciting for quite a few of you on TNET!!!

I know the feeling when seeing silver in the ground and for it to be your first Barber, well, that just makes it all the better feeling and another good memory for this wonderful hobby or ours!
