I'm excited!

Get to go detecting tomorrow with permission downtown at a spot the mister lined out where we know four or five very old homes used to be and we've found evidence of either trash pits or privies there.Don't think we'll get to go whole hog on the privies though being newbies to that (okay I can't promise that as I might get in a frenzy)but will carefully scan the areas where steps to the homes were as well as where clothes lines and general backyard activity might have gone on.Wish us luck!

I'm just trying to picture a CoilyGirl in a Frenzy, I'm giggling! Hoely Privies, I've seen other privy explorers come away with some great bottles and "stuff" (no not that stuff) like coins and stuff. Be careful of the dust and wear gloves cause of broken glass and stuff.

The places are old and if they are virgin then you could be finding just about anything and some things of value and beautiful as well, as well as stuff.

Well even though we think the area was a lot of fill,it was still fun but the old gray mare ain't what she used to be. After digging in gravel and heavily rooted areas my arms are sore.We ended up digging three tokens( one with an eagle and shield and two with clowns on them)a humongous shell from a rifle and I dug a nice mother of pearl button totally by accident as I was putting the soil back in the hole.I know the tokens are not old but still they were fun to dig.We tried to dig where we figured trash pits or privies were but alas,alot of gravel in the area too.I went full out honey badger on a hill that I figured was virgin dirt with bits of broken old glass and all I ended up with was nasty ant bites but again,it was still fun just getting out in the fresh air. So without further ado,here are my finds.

Well spending quality times with loved ones out of doors makes up for it, nice button.
are them ants like the little red buggers that they have in Alabama ? fire ants, one lil bugger bit my hand once, swelled up like a softball.
