Is this a Rev. war shoulder belt plate ?

??? I found this with stuff dating back to the time the house was built in the mid 1700's all the way through the civil war.

It's already ID'ed

It's a plate for leather covered wooden trunk.

If it went on leather whats stopping it going on a leather horse blinker as well?

The point is who cares. It's not a belt plate.

You guy's standards are much higher than most detectorist ;D The better finds the higher standards.

Just amazes me that these plates appear frequent on the net and apparently being sold at good prices via an incorrect ID :icon_scratch:

Yeah but these sites gives the appearance that their expertise is a narrowed down area of military relics.

As detectorists reckon we're more likely to dig the relics than actually buying them :wink:
