I am out in a big wooden area and hunting, a few days ago i did take another way to get to the place we hunting on. This way was straight up on a trail and on a high point. When i walked i tried to see if i did see any suspicious, like open fields, old ruin buildings and so on. When i did see this area with stones like circles i decided to take a closer look. Tho i was out again today trying to get more info how the site is looking. Ive tried to get good pics on the surroundings. The last picture is like a map, how the stones are but from an upper angle.

I did get a shill tho its a very quiet place, and old, i did get the feeling that somebody watched me but i did not see anyone :icon_scratch:

It is much stones in the area but not like this area, some of the stones are almost gone under the ground. What do the members think? I'm glad for any help on this one if it is anything special maby or just nature that have done this?

Thx and happy hunting all!

Looks natural to me, or else made when they put the trail in.

As i said, the pictures is not to good, and thx for leaving a comment ! But Why make such an effort to line the stones like circles and not just throw them in piles or along the path like a straight line along the trail? :icon_scratch:

Maybe it is a pagan site or defensive position from long ago...either way I would detect it if I legally could. High ground overlooking a town is always a good possibility of finding good stuff, IMHO. Good luck, Niffler

The pictures were hard to make out, but the big stone looked like it had some markings like v's in different directions. Frank

Not sure what it is, but it is something worth trying. When ever we see similar large rocks they indicate a Roman Site, but they are normally in plough soil & not in situ. Sorry can't really help on age or function :dontknow:

The thing i've noticed in my time here is that Swedish woods and forests are FULL of bloody great rocks! Looks natural to me. The fields around my house and in the woods here are full of similar amounts and arrangements. Ancient sites are usually made with standing stones and will be more obviously circular or semi-circular.
Still, no harm in going over them. :icon_thumright:

Dont know how rocks are laying in the woods in sweden...but why not give it a try? If i found something like this here i would detect it for sure.

Hi Niffler, legally we have OK to search, i now that in late 1800 and early 1900 they have found a couple of stoneaxes and 1 bronze ax in this city. That was pure luck to the finds are from when people have shack away land. So i would not be shocked if more things like this is around :read2: Thx for comment and best of luck!

Thx all for commenting and we have decided now that tomorrow we will go out and try just that area, and i will bring with me the camera (fully charged)
Its no harm to give it a shot, if it would be nothing there we have some old house sites near by, and an old school that was build 1920 something

But thx to all again and happy hunting! :headbang:
