It's about TRIME!

Finally! After 35 years I found one. Also dug a 62 Rosie, a "one thin dime" play money and half of an old pocket knife. Had a great hunt! The 3 center is soooo thin I don't know how it lasted this long, it's really worn but the last number is a 4 I believe looking at it with a loop. That would put it at 1854 or 1864.

Really nice finds. Congrats on the success.

Nice find... Those are tough to find in Cincy. Keep it up

Awesome! Those are great finds! Congrats !

The Trime is on my wish list (with a lot of other things!) lol! Soooo much ground to cover, so little time! So much can slaw! :laughing7:

Congrats on the three cent silver they are thin little coins at least there is some pretty good detail left on the silver.

I love your title ! yep a "trime" is definitely on my bucket list for U.S. coins (along with Dr.Bust , Capped , Seated , SlQ. Flying Eagle,
and the Indian Head cent !) Great little find there !!!

Those suckers are very small. Probably the only reason they weren't holed more was because they were mainly used only for postal rate and I don't believe they were used as much as nickels and dimes. (My theory but I could be wrong)

The older dates are the ones you want (after 1862) because most of them were melted down and not circulated. Interestingly, because of that, they are worth more when they are the older ones that have been circulated.

Thanks everyone! I found the play money about 2 feet from the 3 center and almost had a heart attack. I thought I had trime spill. Lol Those 3 centers ring up just like a stinkin Lincoln, now I have another reason to dig some more junk. ;)

That is so cool Rob! Happy for ya man. I love these posts. Must feel damn good when you work at something that long and can still hit a first

Great finds! Love that Trime! High up on my to find list, way to go!

Thanks Abe! Unfortunately I still have a nice sized list of firsts that need to be filled. :)

Very nice man, I found mine a few days ago! It sounded like a can slaw/pull tab/ lincoln as well.

I think I remember that post. Wasn't it in real good shape? Post a pic of that baby if you still have it handy!

Thanks Dave! You'll get one. I never thought they would ring up like a zinc. They are so tiny they make a half dime feel like a quarter. ;)

Cool Beans man! The first one I found was in 74,,,I see it laying on the ground at a virgin Fair Grounds...thought it was play money at first.:laughing7:

That wasn't the only money laying on the ground either!

GOD Bless

Chris

Very cool, for sure on my hit list.
Congrats!

It's funny you say that. Mine was laying just under the leaves at a new wooded site I found Sunday! I think it would have been in better shape if it was buried. I wonder if they make their way toward the surface instead of sinking because they are feather lite?

Very cool, for sure on my hit list.
Congrats!

I think you have a better chance at finding one in Jersey than I do Treb! Make sure your diggin those faint zinc signals in the old spots.

Those zinc signals can be REALLY surprising!

They are a tough find anywhere, and 35 years of looking pretty much proves that.
Congrats on crossing one off the list.
