Been waiting for a certain type of flood for many years, I believe it is happening right now. From my experience of mining and monitoring floods here this maybe a game changer that will replenish gold. This river is frustrating, just up river where I mine is a tributary that supplies the gold but the main river up stream has no gold, so if the conditions aren't right the main river when flooding will wash out or cover the gold with many feet of sand. Sadly I know so many gravel bars on this river that after 1995 historic flood and went back next year after a minor flood the deposit had at least 6ft. of sand on top of the deposit. As soon as the river settles down I will be up there to check on the results of this flood. Also merry Christmas to you all

Hi et1955 Yes conditions are lots of heavy rain, warmer temps, along with some high elevation snow that might melt off a bit.
I hope you get the flooding you are looking for.
This link is full of snow pack information. it`s a pay site for detailed reports but the general info on the front page is good.

Hope it works out for you ET..only thing I'm going to get out of this
storm system (at best) is a big mess to clean up.

King5 weather says that Marblemount is supposed to get 6.5" of rain in the
next 24 hrs., and the snow level is around 7000' today, meaning all the water
is going to drain down to the Sauk and the Skagit.

I live above the Snoqualmie River.... Lake Snoqualmie is a better name for it today. Commute home should be interesting, with all the bridges out....

Sometimes they're against us and sometimes for us aren't they. Good luck. 👍

As I've been watching the news, I keep thinking about what you'd been saying about the flood of 1995. It's pretty tragic for all the people impacted by the flooding. But I'm already getting excited for spring. Hope the roads to your claims don't get washed out!

This isn't the first time the Skagit River has hit a high flood level. None of the
news stations have mentioned it, but we had somewhat the same conditions
back in October 2003. Wife and I both remember it clearly, as it came just three
weeks after we moved into our home.

"Heavy rains during mid-October caused severe flooding in northwest Washington, the Olympic Peninsula and on the east slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Over twenty inches of precipitation fell at several locations in northwest Washington between October 15 and 23nd (see Tables 1 and 2). Rivers in the Nooksack, Skagit, Stillaguamish, Snohomish, Skokomish, and Chehalis basins overtopped their banks and inundated adjacent land. The most severe flooding occurred along the Skagit River where more than 3400 people were evacuated. The Skagit River at the Concrete gauge station crested at a record stage 42.2 feet at 6:45am on October 21st. "

The Skagit crested yesterday at 41 ft.. This recent storm was much more widespread, and
caused far more property and road damage than the 2003 storm.
