JACKPOT at the Bank....398 silvers.....

I hit it big monday. The breaks on my truck were starting to make that awful squeeling sound so i popped into the bank to pick up some cash. When i get to the teller i notice a silver half in her tray. I politely asked her if i could trade it for two quarters, and she said " sure, would you like the rest of them?" I said no i just want this one, it was a 1967 40%er, i was ticked. Then she said, "No i mean the rest of the silver halves?, a lady just dropped off some and we have to count them manually." I asked her how many she had, and she said 50 or 60 bucks worth. Of course i told her i would take them, and i waited patiently while she counted them off. I could hear the silver being counted, and would look over from time to time just to see what was there. She finally came to the counter and said, " I was wrong there was $251.00, do you still want them?" DUH. i didnt say that but thats what i was thinking. So i write her a check for $251.00, and head out to my truck to see what i have. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first thing i see is an uncirulated roll of 1963 Franklin Halves.. Brilliant mint luster never touched my human hands. Later when I got home i went through the box and found 140 90% 39 Franklins including the 20 that were BU, and 258 40% Kennedys. There were 101 90% 64 Kennedys, for a total face value of $199.00 Not a bad day thats a total silver value of a little over $3,500.00

This sort of thing is why I always want to hit as many banks as I can. You never know which one has a big score, or at what time. Even more incredible is that the teller knew exactly what they were, and still sold to you for face. I guess that bank has rules about tellers money changing. But even if they did, I'm sure some tellers would risk their job for over $3,000 of Silver.

Excellent score. I don't want to say it's a "once in a life time hit" because it can happen again for you. "Big scores" like your's are getting very rare, but still happen. Those BU 1963 Ben's are worth
more then the silver, so keep them! Check all your 1964-D Kennedy's for a possible double die on the obverse "we". Great photos! Once again.....Great find. It's out there. Keep hunting!

I would say that is in the top 3 best posts I have seen in my in and out experiences with this forum. I have not posted in a long time, but this is absolutely incredible and just goes to show that this hobby can still exist. So for all of the nay sayers out there, the proof is in the pudding indeed.
