Hello everyone,

Been really busy lately. But finally getting the chance to get up pics of the finds made while out with Dan (Danimal) and his Son Spencer for a hunt.

Thanks alot guys for making the drive down to see me. I really expected alot more finds to come out of the area. Some days are better than others.

It is extremely hard to predict how a day will go. Unfortunately I was the only one that day to come up with some keepers. I think Dan and Lance found a few old coins.

But for the most part of the day I made the finds. Witch included as soon as we got to the site a 1846 Large cent.

I felt bad because Dan, is still looking for his first. I would have loved to see him dig it.

I had a great time though. Dan is a great guy and alot of fun to hang out with. I hope we can do it again sometime. Hopefully the next one will be a winner for everyone.

Not all of the items shown were found that day. I've been out on my own a few times.

I did recover one of thee nicest antique silver rings I ever saw. It was down about 10 inches in a sandstone packed dirt rd. It was so powder white and grey it wasn't spotted at first when it came up.

I am running short on time here so I can't get to explain everything. I got a thing called a job I have to get ready for here shortly.

I've been working on these pics and story all day. Hope you all like the finds and write up.

HH Jer

Good hunt guys. Yep, that's Dan. Looks like the same guy I hunted with up at the boyscout camp. We have to get something set up, Jer.

This is an important thing that it seems some THers in PA and elsewhere east seem to either forget or don't include in their self-judgement of their own finds. Some areas like we hunted just REEKED of history! I have hunted a LOT of areas in Ohio and have never, ever FELT that I was in such an old area! From broken bottle shards to the standing homes in the surrounding neighborhoods...PA just must be one of the best states to be involved in this hobby to live in. Make no mistake about it...I plan on many more trips towards the east, where this country of ours was founded. Where millions of people lived and worked while frontier folks were trying to settle the Western Reserve in Ohio while fighting off Native Americans.
Starting to ramble now....Thanks again Jeremy and say hello to your bro and son and wife and little one for me!

Amen those!

Thanks alot everyone.

Dan,

Thanks alot for stepping in and giving the folks here on tnet a history summary. You couldn't have said it any better.

I agree with you to. I think if that area was raked all out one cellar hole at a time. You would get to some deep nice items.

I can't even imagine what types of nice bottles are in those pits. That area was extremely old down there. Founded 1778 and was settled at that time.

I pulled up some old maps. And down in the corner of those woods shows about 20 homes all together. That was like a little town down there forgotten about.

It was early 1800's and late 1700's styling of foundations. I know of another area like this to. But trash is very high.

P.a is very old. And where I am at was booming back in the day. But it still takes hard work and researh to uncover these sites. Knowing my unit very well is key to.

Tell Spencer I am sorry Jake gave him a hard time. I told him just to tell me if he gets out of control. Then I would bring him with me. I know how he can get out there sometime.

He really wanted to go. So I let him come. Beleive it or not he is still talking about Spencer. He really liked him. Tell him I said Thanks for being such a nice kid to him.

He was letting him run the ace. I thought it showed alot of patience in your boy. Definetly come back down again in the future. I know of alot of sites.

Thanks again everyone. I can't say enough right now to explain it all. I'll try and get more out as the thread developes more.

Whenever you can spend some quality time with friends and enjoy in the great recoveries, you can consider that a treasure in itself.

Thanks alot guys,

Your right Zoy, I looked forward to Dan coming down for awhile. And we finally made it happen.

Dan, was like a kid in heaven surrounded by history. I wanted them guys to go home with something great. Maybe next time we can spend a weekend hunting.

We only got to hunt for about 5 hrs or so. It was super hot that day to. We all were about dead at the end of the hunt. He had a long drive home so we called it a day.

Dgaughan,

Here is another pic of the cameo. It is a real beauty. It's my third one. They are hard to find. This is the best one found so far. They get cracked so easily.

Wow what a great day for all of you and the opportunity to get to hunt together! Great site and love the history . Hope to see more members hunting together!

Nice stuff. I really like the blue silver ring the most. Looks awesome cleaned up. Other stuff is great too. As always, a great variety of finds.

I went out in the woods today. Didn't get much but I was surprised to see how little growth there is. With the lack of rain everything just is withering up.

Always good to hunt with other treasure hunters.
