Back when there was no internet I got this phone call that I won a brand new car and all I had to do was pay a $200 processing fee. That could be done immediately by giving my checking account number over the phone. I refused to do that. I told them I would pay it when I pick up my new car. They insisted that they needed my account number now. I still refused. A "manager" got on the line and I got the same spiel. I asked where I could pick up my car - he did not know. When it became apparent that my account number was not going be provided they hung up on me. Gee, do you think this was a scam?

Here is the "FBI" letter that came when I told them about spelling and grammar:

I was told that internet scams are so widespread that the only ones that get FBI attention are scams in excess of $100.000.

LOL they even go so far as to impersonate the FBI because nobody has the time or funds to stop them. It is too widespred. I beleive all the FBI will do is put them on a warning list.
