When you speak of high temps., what is that from? Volcanic activity.extreme ground fires. That point looks weird with the cracks in it, like it swelled up and split.

She is found in the ashes of the hearth of the dwelling.

heated by accident, or on purpose?
found only in hearths?

Bill

I think they were thrown into the fire intentionally. There were about ten burnt arrowheads.

so do they seem to be (?) any different functionally (hardness, edge, toughness, ?)
they seem to be in quite nice condition

I ask because there are other paleolithic cultures thad did heat specific rocks to increase their hardness (?), SA as I recall.

As we know, re-molten glass loses some properties. It becomes very fragile. These samples, of course, lost their initial properties. I showed those samples that have been preserved very well. Others, baked, forming a single whole. Completely changed the structure of the glass. Foamed, became very light, remained afloat in water, did not sink. I gave these samples to scientists.

Found an interesting instance, a curve knife.

Does that inside curve have use wear like the outside? Was there more to that piece you think? Wear seems heaviest on that curved portion

I’m not sure what’s better, your finds or your photographer.

I am a concrete contractor and beekeeper, been dealing with dominant men and stinging insects full time for a long time. I am not used to dancing around things.

For the record, and not to take us too off track, the above is maybe my favorite TreasureNet quote of all time.
