[Note: This is the second time I have typed this entire thing, because the power went off the first time. Go figure.]

Ok, so by now you should all know about the kind of week I have had www.treasurequestxlt.com/community/treasure-quest-support-group/14707-not-my-week.html. Well, once again, last night, I was reminded that everything indeed does happen for a reason.

So I'm headed home from work and I receive a text msg from the girlfriend that I need to stop by the store and pick up this-and-such... So, I do, but learn when I get home that I picked up the wrong this-and-such, and have to go back and exchange it.

So I decide that I'll go by the nearer location of the store I went to originally and exchange it (and for those who may not know - you can't exchange something bought from one HEB location at another). So I tell the manager that denied me something about having corn in my s*** that was older than he was, and begrudgingly head to the original store.

I find the correct this-and-such and check out. As I'm walking to my truck, I realize halfway down the aisle that I had gone down the wrong aisle - my truck was one aisle over. At about that same instant, I notice something on the ground in the middle of the aisle. Reaching it, I discover it's a wallet.

I flip it open and look at the driver's license, and realize it belongs to one of a group of guys that had just walked past me into the store. Another gentleman walks up and say something about taking it in, and I told him, "Hell no! After the week I've had, this one is all mine!"

I catch up to two of the guys as they're walking down the beer aisle (go figure...). I ask them if this wallet belongs to one of them, and one of them says, "YEAH! That's MY wallet! Where'd you find it?! Dude! Thank you SO much!" I tell him it was in the parking lot, and they both kinda looked at each other and stammered, thanking me again, incredulously.

So - what I realized is that IF I had not eff'ed up like I did on Sunday (and Monday) I would not have stayed late at work (to avoid going home); and by buying the wrong thing to start with and having to go back; and then go to the wrong store to return my purchase; and by taking the wrong aisle back to my truck - I would not have had the opportunity to find the guy's wallet and return it.

So, to Carson Daley, I say a humble Thank You.

And as you reap, so shall you sew.
one word, and you said it......Karma.

Good for you, like ty said, what goes around comes around.

One day as I pulled into a local CVS, I watched a guy get out of his truck, at which time his wallet propmtly fell onto the asphalt. He was walking at a pretty good pace, so by the time I got parked he was already in the store. I picked-up his wallet & looked at the pic on his license to be sure I'd recognize him. I found him right away & said "hi, you dropped your wallet when you got out of your truck".....here's the good part, first thing he did was to look & see if I stold his money ???.....I thougt, "man, if I was gonna rip you off, I dang sure wouldn't chase you down to give you your wallet back" ;D I don't know, maybe I'd have done the same.

Smitty's right. What goes around, comes around. I once lost my wallet in a bar, which was a poorly lit bar. A guy came up to me and asked if I had lost it. I checked and replied "Yes!". He handed it to me, and the first thing I did was check to see if my money was still in there (it was), but also to grab $20.00 or maybe $40.00 bucks to give him for his honesty! Like I said, it was poorly lit and by the time I picked my head up, he was gone. I have since found a wallet and I also returned it. It makes you feel good to know there are still honest people out there!

Two reasons why I would look in my wallet when you handed it to me. One, did some one take the money out before you found it and two If I was going to buy something in the store was I going to be able to pay for it. Just a thought.
