Labor Day Finds

Got in a few hours of hunting today in two different states. This bi-pointed blade is my first of this type and was a very nice surprise. After some good luck across the state line I hit my woodland / mississippian construction spot and had a good one there too because they've moved alot of dirt around. The chalcedony triangle is a real sweetheart. Happy holidays and HH everyone.

Those are some nice artifacts. The double pointed piece is really nice, we find a few of them around here once in awhile.

Sweet! You racked up. Am I seeing jacks reef or kirks, a super adena blade..Big sandys? lol Too many to name. This is the most I have seen come out of a hunt in a while. Congratulations Thirty7. You must have had some rain.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. We haven't had the good downpour we need, just a couple showers. Hurricane Earl didn't bring the rain I was hoping to get but it did suck in some cooler temperatures which is great, starting to feel like fall. The great thing about hunting mx tracks and construction sites is not having to rely on rain, just have to wait on races and new ground turnover.

I think you nailed those types...thanks. It was one of the better hunts I've had in a couple years as far as whole pieces go.

They are all nice but, I favour the Guilford. I only ever found 1 whole one, with two points.

Thanks Twitch, Creek, and Molly. I have a hard time finding the Guilfords whole as well, I think it has something to do with the materials they chose imo. Seems like the lower grade lithics just don't stand the test of time like the higher grade stuff. That would have been a great one whole the base is really well made.

I know a guy who found a 7 inch Guilford in WV. He spotted a quartzite tip sticking out of a dirt clod, the base was coming out the other end of the dirt clod. That's what he told me anyway. He did show me the point though framed on his wall, it's a killer, best Guilford I've seen.
