I guess it depends if you have the tools to properly cut it. BUT if the rest of your collection is raw, and you don't have a desire to make jewelry or ornamental pieces...I'd leave it as is...but it IS a nice find! I've only found small agates, so my search continues for the big kahuna of agates...:)

I love agate, quite common (varieties of quartz) but yet such a unique look... I say let it as it is. :thumbsup:

Anyone know how to make agate marbles? I'd keep that piece as is due to its size, but I use to collect agate marbles and they are too darn expensive and rare any more. Monty

Semper Fi USMC1986,

I'm USMC1969. I also collect rocks. I have alot of Lake Superior Agates. Most of them I found on the shores of the Mississippi River at Prairie du Chien. Nice find.

TimC, Semper Fi back at ya....I'm going to take my 12 yr old daughter down there soon! I want to go visit Effigy Mounds. Are you from that area?
