me and the wife took the grankids to largs beach today i took my metal detector and found my first pound coin within five minutes i was hoping to find more but it decided to pour down and we had to leave

I wish we had coins over here worth that much that were commonly used in circulation. Unfortunately the U.S. quarter is about as big as it gets over here, commonly circulated that is. Welcome to Tnet and good luck hunting.

Actually, with the right machine we pull out pound coins here in California. I'm using an XP Deus and it seems to be quite DEEP!

I got these 2 last month at a local beach.
