I have been on Tnet for about three years and have been amazed at the history that has been dug by fellow members. I just finished what will probably be my last hunt for a good while (two Wheaties and a 58 nickle). Like many others before me on Tnet ,I am being deployed to Iraq but only for 6 months. I try not to complain being I know how easy I am going to have it compaired to the ground pounders that are winning this war. Remember that what you see on the news is only half truths and there is progress being made . The Media to me is fueling the enemies fire and not telling the stories of the heroes on the ground. I am in the AF and will be in side the wire the whole time so complaning is not an option when I will have it good compaired to most of the people over there. Good luck and I hope every one on here digs at least one gold coin ,just leave one for me when I get back. ;D

Who is the enemy in Iraq? Iraqis? Sunni Bathists? Is it a liberation? An occupation? Be Safe and a joyous return.

All safety and speed in getting this tour done and coming back home, birdman.

I forget the ratio of Support people to each grunt, but in '70 it was about 15:1. All the jobs are necessary; all the jobs are important.

When I was on the road in the Central Highlands, we'd shake our heads (with envy) at the Air Force guys having a barbeque in their compound by the airstrip as we pulled perimeter guard. But those guys were on the team that spent long hours keeping the Phantoms in the air, and WE LOVED OUR FAST-MOVERS, YESSS... and the B-52's, Thuds, F-111's, C-129's, C-47 and C-163 gunships, and a lot more real handy devices.

I was Support people too, and everyone's part of the effort.

Media half truths is giving them far to much credit. You say you have it good over there
by comparison well because of you and others like you we here...have great. And for
that I would like to thank you. :notworthy:
