Detector(s) used
Garret Ace250/Prospecter Bounty hunter(Backup)
Well the weather up here has been great lately and I have been able to get out and swing quite a bit. I had some software issues but they seem to be solved, for now, so I got a few pics ready to post.
First off I was hunting in my hometown where there is a park of considerable size. I got a solid dime hit and dug up a nice sterling and opal ring. The area was fairly trashy but those dimes sing pretty good on the little Ace250. Speaking of dimes, the clad count is getting pretty crazy. My last three outtings have netted about $40 in clad. The only old coins to speak of are two wheat pennies and a 1950 nickle, but I'll take 'em!!!!

Having said that, I DID hit a piece of silver in a farm turned sports park. You will see in the pics a ring with eagles on each side and 13 stars surrounding where the stone should be. I did look through the surrounding ground and never could find the stone. The fact that the ring is old is a given. The farm was from about 1800 and I honestly think the ring might be easily that old. There is no 925 mark on it but it is sterling. If anyone has any information to help me identify it I would greatly appeciate it.

So back to the first park I go as I was driven away by rain. What I found there was a 14k gold ring with what is certainly the ugliest opal cabachone ever made :P Not that I am complaining, just stating a fact. That is one UGLY ring!

Now....Yesterday I went out looking for a ring for an individual that lost one. I have looked for it a couple of times these past few days. I wish I had had my camera yesterday, as what I found was just sickening. This lady obviously either borrowed a detector or had a friend borrow one and the track at the highschool, or rather the field inside of it, was full of holes, BIG holes with dirt and plugs laying all over. I spent a good deal of time cleaning up whoevers mess so I might be able to hunt there in the future. It was, very simply grotesque and had I not have cleaned it up, I am sure I would never be allowed to hunt there again nor would anyone else.

Having said that, the day was far from unsucessful. I found bunch of clad and two rings...One is a nice sterling and turquoise, and the other just a nice small sterling band.

So, five rings in as many outtings and a whole lotta clad later, I am a happy camper.
ENJOY!

~Nash~

Those are some really nice rings Nash! You are SO right about that stone it is homely looking, but still a great find. I wish you the best of luck Id'ing that class style ring.

We thank you for saving or hobby from the "gophers" ::). Way to go Man!

Well that $40 in clad can go towards that new Water detector ;).

Nice finds. That military ring is cool even with missing stone.

Thanks a bunch. You know the time I put in for all this stuff. I really should keep a few days worth of Junque and post that too, but I would need a place to sleep if I brought it all home.
The clad is in with the rest of this years clad, and a water detector is JUST what I am going to get!

:o YEEEOUCH...Yesterday the first half hour was pretty sick. Quarters and dimes, quarters and dimes...I think I might just be happy with that $7 and be able to move more than an inch without yelping today. I dug more holes than I care to think about....Hey wait a sec. It wasn't the digging! It was the FILLING THE JERKS HOLES! :P

Then again, I know you and you will be out there kickin some serious butt any moment!
Good luck man!

Those are nice rings! I don't find many, but I'm not looking where you find a lot of them. I might have to reconsider my methods!

ring-a-ding-ding :)

That is instant karma in action amigo. You + good deed (filling holes) = rings.

Great rings Nash! I really like the military silver one....

Keep safe and keep diggin'...

Sweet finds Nash. I'll take an ugly ring over no ring any day though. Cute opal to. You certainly did a good thing for the hobby by filling that jerks holes. HH

Very nice finds there, Nash!!! I really like the silver/opal ring and the eagle ring!! I agree, the gold/opal ring is not a good-looker, but gold is gold....I found a silver ring the other day I wouldn't wear myself.

Congrats again on those finds and all your clad!!

Nash, that ring with the Eagles is one nice piece. I usually give my rings away, but that one I would surely keep. Congrats on all that ring action!

WTG Nash.......very nice finds. You obviously got that machine fixed. I think the military ring is pretty cool too.

Glad you are back on-line with us, Nash. :) You have been busy!!! Those are some really great rings!!! That eagle ring is fantastic!!!!! Looks similar to the one DiggerBug found a couple of months ago.

Way to go on those GREAT finds!!!

Nana :)

Way to go, Nash. Hadn't seen you post for a while and I just knew you were stockpiling the goodies.

I think you must have some sort of cosmic link with Opals. Seems to me I remember an awesome solid opal pendant that you found a while back. Any updates yet on its history?

Get that water machine, then give me a holler and lets go looking for nuggets!

Awesome rings Nash..the one with the eagles really looks like an oldie.
