I pulled this lump of stuff out of the ground and I said to myself. That looks like a saddle?
Then I turned the object and saw the head. I was thinking, wow this is cool! It's made out of lead so I straightened it out some. I'm afraid to break it.
It came from a school yard in which the school was founded in 1888. My mom lived about 4 doors from there when she was about 10 years old which would be the 1940's. It would be something if this was hers. Very unlikely but still fun to think about. =)
Does anybody have an idea about this horse?

I also found this 1962 British or Northern Ireland Penny. It's slightly wider than a half dollar. United Kingdom 1 penny 1962 :: Coin catalog - uCoin.net

And to top it off I found my second CTR ring which is ring 61 of this year!

Wow awesome finds !! Thanx for sharing..!!

Great finds.looks like they rode that horse so hard its head fell off.lol...looks pretty old im sure someone on here will know all about it.thanks sharing

very cool horse and saddle

The way that horse and saddle are configured, could it have possibly been a candle snuffer? All it needs is a wooden dowel or handle holding it all together! Very cool find, congrats! Sub

That's a great idea! It looks just like a candle snuffer. Maybe I'll make it into one. =)
The saddle looks too small for the size of the body that would go with that head.
You might have nailed it.
