✅ SOLVED Lead plate with some lettering

Kinda weird being made of lead? I see a "W". There is a border around the outside. Some more small lettering to the left of the W ? Just thought I'd throw it out there. Never saw tags made of lead.

Would it not be reversed.

I understand the point you are making. Can you do a silly putty press, as Broken knee suggested, to see if more details come out? Might be better than the rubbing outcome.

I don't think it is a printing plate. The image is not reversed. The design to the left of the W is 3 letters with a "swoosh" through them. Possibly L-B-?

I see what you are seeing DCMatt.

But if you rotated that 90 degrees..then the B would be backwards, which one could say it was a printing plate.

And it may not be a "W" but an "M" and the "LB" could be a "TB"...Of course this is all shooting in the dark.

But It has every sign of being a Printing Plate...The letters are hard to determine due to the amount of wear on it

I recently found a lead metal plate also. Mine was more intact and a little easier to read.
