I shut mine off between targets and pull battery after a hunt. Otherwise it would be hollering when near metal, where its carried and between. Garrett.

Got the Garrett pin pointer in today. I am starting to like it more than the minelab

Mine gets mudded on occasion in speaker holes. Have read of some folks wrapping a piece of electrical tape around pinpointer covering speaker holes. A thumb can go on it in a pinch but wearing a head set its fine by me. I should remember though when people are around, its a wee bit loud.

Agree fully... Too many systems broken due to batteries being left in and that goes for every thing not just pin pointers...

I also use a buffer pad on the sides; to make sure my battery does not wobble about. The end pad is useless as some batteries can be at least 2mm longer and this can then crush teh end pads and teh contacts... Put in a short battery and you get all sorts of power / performance issues..
