Local Credit Union Machine doesn't take halves
After I joined a local Credit Union with a change machine, I was trying it out with 100 dollars in dimes and under 10 in cents. The machine stopped in the middle and the teller had to change out the cents bag with a new one and before she could get it to work again she had to open every door on it. In the front was a plastic drop bucket that had 3 large dollars in it and I asked her about them, "they go into a special fund," she said. When I told her I collect coins she said she could trade them for 3 dollars so I got 3 Ikes and she dropped my 6 halfs into the bucket. When the machine started again I asked her if it took halves and she said she didn't think so but to try a few. They were spit out into the return slot along with one bent dime. For 15 to join, it will be real nice to use for the cents, dimes, and nickels I don't feel like wrapping. I wanted to ask about buying some of the bags but I figured it would be better to get to know them first. None of the Banks here have the penny machines and last week was the first I had seen this CU.
