Welcome Aboard Denise! Take a look at Sub-Forums: New Jersey for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state. Now, on your trip to Florida - browse Sub-Forums: Florida...

Hello Denise,

Welcome to the forum! I think the most important thing for any new detectorist is to learn the machine, dig everything until you understand the detector and enjoy the hobby. Most importantly (in your case) enjoy the warm weather in the keys.

Regards,

Doc

Welcome scoobie dee, you should have a great time in Marathon!
I've detected Sombrero Bch, I never found much, mostly change. If you detect the water, stay in the sandy areas and don't dig up any of the turtle grass (the long green seaweedy looking underwater grass). Don't dig or remove any coral underwater, either.
On land, just cover your holes, don't dig in a marked turtle clutch, and take out the trash, please. :laughing7:
Have fun and welcome to Tnet. :hello:
