I dug this piece yesterday in a yard in duluth, MN near downtown.I'm curious what this is. Its really thin and is double sided.

Anybodys info would be much appreciated. Have no clue what it could be. To me, it looks like a ship with sails.it also has some dots and some interesting characters around the edges. Thank you very much

Not real why put ships on both sides, you don't do that. A hedeby coin wouldn't look like that.

It looks like a Christian cross at the top of the mast which rules out Viking. May be Saxon.

I don't see a cross on the OP's photo.

I don't see a cross on the OP's photo. Looks more like a flag.

The closest I've come to this image is a 10th century drakkar (dragon) vessel coin from Scandinavia; like this:

but the OP's coin with almost the same image on both sides makes me think it's a token; perhaps used in a reenactment event in MN--where the residents came predominantly from Scandinavia. Just guessing at every step.
Don.....

If it is real it would be a hedeby coin, but the coin looks to be to amateur made to be real. And again why put ships on both sides. By the way i live 100 km from hedeby.;-) mack is right.
