My wife and I went last week on vacation to Chicago. With all those banks, how could I resist!
I bought about $500 of loose and CWR half dollars and had a single 1968D to show for it.
I walk into a bank and the teller told me didn't have any half dollars. Then another customer speaks up, "I have some half dollars."
Sure enough, she pulls out a plastic bag with 9 coins in it. Five US half dollars (1967x2 and 1968Dx3), 2 US dimes (1941 and 1944), a 1953 British 2 shilling (CuNi) and a 1960 Hong Kong dollar (CuNi).
She accepted 3 crisp dollar bills for her coins!
