I am not quite sure at this point, but a park I have hunted before seems to be producing now !! The last time I went to this particular place I found a lot of clad and nothing else. Then the other day I was in the area so I stopped by to build my clad count for August.

The first thing I hit was a wheatie, then another, then a first for me ----- two wheaties stuck together in the same hole !! So i have been back a couple times today and found more wheats, and all seemingly in the same general area. My total wheat count for the area I have hunted so far is eleven with the oldest being a 1918 and the oldest a 1952.

I went over it real good and real slow and dug just about every single peep my 250 made no matter what the read was, then I dug up this button with what looks like bag pipes on it
It is my first real button but i have no idea anything about it .... do you
? The bad thing was I took my knife to dig out the dirt and then watched the shank fall to the ground, it was badly rusted. Oh well, dig and learn.

Then tonight I just sooo happened to be in the area for the 3rd time today and could not resist a quick hunt. I decided to hit an area kind of away from where I had been. Right away I got a dime signal at about 4 inches and dug up a 1971 dime. Then I got a quarter signal and dug up a tiny piece of wound up can slaw. Then i got a half dollar signal. I never believe these signals for some reason, but I always dig them, cause what the heck ?? This time it payed off, I saw what I have waiting for for a long time - that glimmer of silver from under the dirt !!! It was, as you can see, a 1952 Franklin Half, my very first. And yes I did the HAPPY DANCE right there.!

Thanks for reading and Good Luck
