Here are my finds today, just pulled them out of my pouch and haven't cleaned them up yet. The coolest thing is the necklace, which appears to be a medical necklace with a magnet to pull out. I will clean it up in a bit and repost what it looks like. The two small round things are a button and costume jewelry earring. I have NO idea what the metal ring thing is. It rang up high on silver, and I thought it was going to be jewelery. All in all, a good day, and I am pleased. Almost everything were surface finds to 2 inches within an area 30 feet by 40 feet. It took me two and a half hours to go through.

I want to thank everyone on this site who have been so kind and helpful to a newbie. Next week will mark two months for me in the metal detecting hobby! 8-)

Excellent hunt. It looks like you are digging everything, which is good. Pretty soon you will have an idea of what it is before you dig it, just from the sound.
Congratulations on your finds.

I agree, adit. It is kind of like pulling a slot machine. Especially when I get the bell sounds!:laughing7:

Thanks rook, I needed a good day. The previous day was a real stinker at a local county park. But I met a fellow detectorist who had just gotten a Minelab CTX3030 and he let me hold it.:notworthy:

Ok, here are two better pics of the necklace. One is with the little magnetic bar off, and the other is with it in. You can see a cross (medical symbol). There are no initials or info anywhere on the necklace, so it is not a medical alert necklace. What the HECK is this? Can anybody identify it? necklace.jpg necklaceclosed.jpg
