Love my new headphones! Seems Charlie talked to Mike before Christmas and I ended up with a new set of Gray Ghost headphones under the Christmas tree. Mike must have dialed them in to find extra special 'what's it' items! :D We've finally been getting some colder weather, so Lisa and I have been out and about a couple of times since Christmas. Last week I found a really neat RR button, a buckle, a Merry Widows tin and a silver lid that goes to who knows what and other misc relics.

Lisa found the coolest little cap gun! Thanks to Breezie for the company ID. She says it's a DIXIE brand. What else could it be here in the heart of Dixie?

Isn't that the coolest little pistol!

And she found this full metal shotgun shell...it still has the ball in there! Looks like someone had drilled out the powder.

Yesterday we got out to dig a bit and I ended up with a pocket full of relics. I had no idea what I had found until I got home to empty my pocket and clean them up.

I had found a button that I couldn't ID while out, but after the bit of cleaning, it looked familiar. I emailed Quindy and to my surprise, he says it's a CS block 'I' button! Woohoo! Happy Dance! Thanks Quindy!!!

Pleased as peaches, I decided to post up a 'what's it' that I was hoping someone would know. My thoughts when I dug it was that it was maybe the handle top to a cane. Not to be. You should have seen my expression when Creskol informed me that it was a sword pommel. (I still need that fainting smiley) :o Thanks to OldNBroken for the pic ID and Ivan for all the valuable information!! :hello: This was the second relic I dug and the 'I' button, the first. 'Nother Happy Dance! :D

Ended up with an O'Bryan button (Started in 1865), a clock key, a buckle, a spoon, a bell that looks like pear and other odds and ends.

Thanks, Q! I didn't think winter was ever going to get here. The temps have been in the 60's and 70's but looks like that might finally change in the next day or two....after the monsoon season. >:( The snippy little gnats don't want to give up. This must have been a banner year for those little bugs. :-X
Thanks Trent! I'd love to dig one of those up too. Very cool!
Thanks James. :)
Thanks MM! And yes, they are. I need to drag out more 'what's its' for them to ID....help keep 'em busy. :D
:D John...so gotta love the claw!
Thanks Rob, Burt and HB! :)
WSD...the spoon and garter clip huh? Somehow that doesn't surprise me. :D
Thanks SS. I think I got the Deep Woods variety.
Thanks Antiq! We've been waiting on winter all summer. Seems we've gone from four seasons to two.... there is no spring or fall here any longer. :D
Thanks SB, Anne & Mike. :hello:
TC...I guess I need to start looking at those shells. Thanks! :)
Thanks Mini & MR. :)
Thanks George. I did look for the marble, but it wasn't there. That would have been a bonus tho. :icon_thumright:
HH!
