More Chimney Finds

Yesterday, I went back to the old stone chimney site where I dug my "US" American / Indian Wars buckle last year.
This time I was equipped with my new Tesoro Vaquero. The finds were tough due to all the pieces of the old tin roof scattered everywhere. I did dig up two small hibernating Black snakes in separate holes during the day. I put them back to sleep though.
This place has turned up an unbelievable amount of old harmonica reeds. I'm thinking they may tie in with the old mill that is just down the hill.
Nothing too fantastic found, but the two old brooches were pretty neat to find.

I've always said, a man can never have enough filigree.
That tin is p-ssing me off. There are so many roots I can't even pull up most of the larger tin pieces.
Do you happen to have a backhoe I could borrow.

You got me all excited about that mill spot now down the hill. You can bet I'll be over there poking around more. I'll have to find out if my Tesoro is waterproof too because I want to see what signals may be in the rock crevices.
