I went back to the field Mel and I hunted yesterday and it is still giving up the goodies. There is definitely an old site under a newer site. In the same area I found a 1912 LC and a 1700s George III Irish Hibernia Halfpence. This is another first for me. I also found a yet to be identified copper but may be a US Colonial...also found the usual homesite stuff. I thought I found a pewter military button but it is civilian...I think...

The clover is growing fast in this field and due to work this will be the last hunt until the next cutting...probably 6 weeks. It's a huge area and I only covered a very small area.

I'vev been lucky to find a really good and early site. In one small area we have found a British, Irish, Chinese and American coin...all from the 1700s...not to mention a handfull of worn smooth coppers and some later Canadian...

Someone should be able to ID the copper, seated figure arm pointing at the "C" She seems to be facing more towards the side than a typical halfpenny. I know I can figure this out but someone might know right off.

Romeo, you rock, buddy! You never cease to amaze me with your Colonial recoveries.

You would think that with "ect" showing it would be easy...

That's why I feel I'm missing something obvious but may not be the case.
