Morning Walk in the Park

I got out of work early today, so I decided to take a couple hour walk in an old city park with the AT Pro set at pro zero with the ground balance set at -10 from initial ground balance..
The first find of the day was a 1886 IHP.


The second find of the day was a flat button at about 10" deep.


The final find of the day was found about 9" deep masked by a piece of can slaw. I was getting a VDI number of 39-45 with a little chirp of 70. I found the slaw first then I re-scanned the bottom of the hole and this what came out of the hole.


I was wondering if anyone can help with identification of the hallmarks? I did have the ring tested and it is 22 kt, it's the first time I have found a ring of this carat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the Lion , the date letter , the monarch profile mark , and presumebly a makers mark , or city mark - It resembles British marks to me ! Very nice find !! You'll get the answer when Crusader , or some of the other Brits weigh in .

CLOSEST I could find was either 1923 or 1925
lot of the date charts can be conflicting - tough on thinner bands - most of my 22ks from Uk have been thicker bands and easier to see
but even some of the ones I could see perfectly - I would find same exact letters on different charts and dates would be off - seeing how it was
around 9 ins down - the time range might be about right

2kt down from pure gold. WOW,, the higher the karat, the softer the gold. That ring can be restored with very little effort. That's one for the showcase. The AT PRO comes through again.

Cool scores on the old Indian Head Cent and flat button. That old gold ring is just special! Love the hallmarks. Perhaps try the What Is It section to get an answer to what they represent. Very nice ring.

Its tricky as it has no assayers mark, although I can't see the far left mark? What is it?

Without the assayers mark all we can say for sure is that it has a King George head, so its either KGIII or KGIV period.

If we assume the most likely assayer is London then the date letter 'h' is either 1783 or 1823. I would plum for 1823 as the best match. But it needs confirming.
