Morning Walk in the Park

I got out of work early today, so I decided to take a couple hour walk in an old city park with the AT Pro set at pro zero with the ground balance set at -10 from initial ground balance..
The first find of the day was a 1886 IHP.


The second find of the day was a flat button at about 10" deep.


The final find of the day was found about 9" deep masked by a piece of can slaw. I was getting a VDI number of 39-45 with a little chirp of 70. I found the slaw first then I re-scanned the bottom of the hole and this what came out of the hole.


I was wondering if anyone can help with identification of the hallmarks? I did have the ring tested and it is 22 kt, it's the first time I have found a ring of this carat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your finds. There are websites you can find your hallmarks on. Just google gold hallmarks and start there. Each mark has a meaning. One may be the year it was made, another will be the town/city it was made in, yet another will be the makers mark. I use to have a specific website address, as I always checked my own finds. I have just misplaced the address over the years.

OK that helped. The first hallmark on the left is the Makers Mark - 'A?' - So doesn't help much.

However, I can now, even without the assayer mark work out its; LONDON 1823.
