26 years ago this spring I dug the exact same coin as my first metal detecting find ever...3 inches down within 4 inches of my grandmother's driveway. The fever began and runs on to this day....welcome to the "disease".

Weird. The first silver coin I found MDing was about 30 years ago...and you guessed it - it also was a '43 Walker.

What a beauty! Congratulations! After 10 years of hunting I found my first Walking Half this year...and my second a month later...both 1943! My girlfriend commemorated my luck at Christmas with a 1943 Walking Half ring!

There is nothing like those old silver coins popping out of the ground. A hundred years or more later they still look as if they just fell out of someone's pocket. Very nice find.
