found my first half dollar today
its not old but i dont care at least i found one.

Cool! In 10+ years of hunting, I only found 5... all post 1970. Really hard to find. Now you can add that to your signature list!

my first was last week, a 1973 they are cool , and I was suprised to see in redbook they are still minted you can get a roll of new ones at the bank if they get em.

Hey, at least you found one, five years detecting here and I have found none but

I took my friend out for his first time and his first hit was a half dollar, boy was I a little jealous!

whats nice is it even said it was a 50 cent piece on my 3300 but its said that befor just not with every pass and when i dig i get foil...lol

I'm going on 3 years MD'ing and I've got two. My first was a very deep Franklin half that I almost gave up on. I thought for sure it was a crushed can... Decided to dig just a little more and out popped old Ben. Couldn't believe it.
