I was feeling a little blue that my one room schoolhouse site was finally cleaned out. My DFX and my brothers Explorer SE have pounded this site but i was in the neighborhood tonight and wanted to try a new setting. After revisiting Jimmy Sierra's book i decided to slow my sweep speed down to one and just work REALLY slow. I cranked my AC and DC sensitivities to near max, preamp gain to 4,sweep speed to one and use mixed mode with audio osculation on. I started swingin next to old dug plugs and wasn't real hopefull but got a weak broken signal right away and out came this beautiful SL Dime! I passed the coil over the hole before covering and got another signal!! The crusty 1884 Indian Head! An 1800's pocket spill, unreal. Next was this nice little "91" Indian Head that was an honest 6 inches deep, gave a very weak signal and the only clue i had was i was in mixed mode and got a increase in the buzzing. The discrimination tone was tiny and i only got a signal with the coil moving just a few inches side to side.SLOW,SLOW,SLOW...I topped things off with a Merc.I'm new this year to the DFX and I'm sure i have a lot to learn about it, but I'm finding that the slower the better if you're in an area that's producing. Ok,sorry for the rambling but I've dreamed about there being a Seated Liberty on this site and I'm just thrilled to have found one. Thanks for looking!!! Jerry
