I have not been happy with my digging tool so i went out in search of a new one i had been using a tiling spade i had in the shed and it seemed ok but i found i had to bend over to far to pry out the plug, So i went on to Utube and did a search i watched many video's and this looked by far the best out there. So i went out and spent 28.00 at Lowes on this spade and Wow this thing is Awesome i tried it out today and this thing cuts a nice plug with no bending over due to the angle of the handle and has a nice wide step for my foot. What is your favorite shovel? 20190602_204041.webp 20190602_204053.webp 20190602_204104.webp

Thats the style Aquachigger uses, my favorite is my Preditor Ranger shovel, I tried the shovel you have but dont like carrying my shovel for to long, i have a holster to hang my ranger ...

Where is my digging tool? It's hiding behind my Garrett carrot. I try to project an image of "I will not damage your property". Image is everything when there are bad guys out there doing damage to our hobby. Not saying you are doing damage, but a long handled shovel in a park or on school grounds does not look good. I carry the tool and the carrot together in my hand or in my pouch. My normal plug is silver dollar size thanks to the carrot, but can easily dig a 5" plug if necessary. At 76 years with back trouble and some arthritis I'm still good for 100+ holes a day.

Garrett Edge Digger was a freebie after a botched USPS 'delivery' of an AT Pro:

32" Root Assassin for the bigger jobs.

I use a Fiskars garden knife on city property where your only allowed 8" deep holes and no shovels.
Other areas I use a trenching spade.

I agree with you on public grounds a long handle does not look good. I us a small hand tool there also but i generally dont go to public land. i am mostly on private digs and cellar holes.

I use one like that for farm fields...works great! I love my Predator model 35 piranha shovel and model 31C Raptor digger...great everywhere else. :occasion14:

Lesche. Very discreet if ya know what I mean.

When in the woods I use a predator 30" shovel (easy to carry) and a modified Lesche with an extended handle (even easier to carry).
When in parks I use the traditional Lesche or Whites Digger.

I just found a used tree planting shovel for $10. (Worth around 80) it seems to work great for parks.

I use a fiskars garden knife in the city. I use a fold up army style shovel in the field. On a farm property that I have permission to dig before planting season and after the harvest I use the regular long handle garden spade.

Seriously, a Treasurewise T-14. TTC

Lesche 31" Sampson for farm fields. True Temper 8" trowel for lawns.

I use a Lesche Sampson T handle digging tool! It cuts clean plugs every time!
