I went out to metal detect around an old House.
I didn't find anything interesting as I hoped for, only cans and scrap metal.
But then I dig one signal and I was right about to start searching through the plug when I realised there was a spider on it.
I never knew spiders were made of metal :laughing7:

Go to your local do it yourself store and buy the rubber coated gloves - Very cheap, last a long time and work great for protection from all sorts of things!
I never dig without them, unless I'm underwater wearing my neoprene gloves :icon_thumleft:

I found some gloves called gorilla gloves which are very light and comfortable. I also have some Kevlar strand gloves that I wear when it's cooler out. One time I dug a razor sharp broad head tip that would have sliced me wide open. You never know what's in that hole.... Razor blade, arrow head, broken glass, a needle , yes I dug a few ancient hypodermic needles one time. Where those gloves my friend. It's a good idea. Btw I hate spiders. I'm like a lil girl around them lol

Careful of the kevlar gloves, you can still be jabbed, stabbed by sharp objects while wearing them.I even got sliced (4 stitches worth) while wearing the woven kevlar gloves.A knife point penetrated the weave while I was quartering a 25 pound block of cheese.

Having arachnophobia myself - Granny always said "Watch out for the spiders", so I always have. And we got some real beasts at my farm. This thread resonates!!! I'll be wearing my gloves today!
