At first I thought it was a holed LC. :icon_scratch:
But I can't make out any recognizable details on the front, what's on the reverse?
Might be an oil lamp burner thumbwheel?

What is a holed LC? The only thing i. Can make out is the letter c there doesn't appear to be anything on the reverse side . What would be the best way to clean it up a bit so I can try to see what's on it?

A holed LC is an LC with a hole in it. Since the hole is in the center, I would guess it was for a nail like home made retainer etc.

LC = large cent (you won't see the letters LC on it)

Wellll… except for the incredibly rare 1793 version, a US Large Cent coin measures 28-to-29mm (approximately 1-&-3/8 inches) in diameter. Also, it was a little bit thicker than a modern-era US penny. (You didn't say anything about the thickness/thin-ness of the disc you found.) You can easily confirm whether or not it actually is a US Large Cent by doing precise measuring.

Then, please tell us the result, so the folks here will know whether or not their guess about its ID was correct.
