I do not have a scale but I will be weighing it tomorrow. The blue area is glass, there could be a picture in back of it, I'm not sure right now.

-Still checking...

[Messick81]

there are no hallmarks on it any where but i did have it tested at an antique shop and it tested beter than 14kt

That would really be cool if its a picture. Kinda small though.

I don't know the details on your treasure Messick81,
but it sure does look like treasure of a very high measure

These marks I circle; do you think they might be initials?

good eye mike but i have looked very close and there are no initals.

Very nice piece! I found one that is similar that dates in the 1800's.

The center of yours may be a hair locket - especially if it is older than late 1800's (before photography).

the weight of the cross is 10.44 grams

A little slow as I just now caught up to this thread, could have saved myself some time by just looking oh well, the search goes on. Yes, you certainly do have something of a very high value Again---super find

[Montana Jim]

I guess I'll be the first to ID it as a watch fob...

Masonic secret locket watch fob that held a picture... dated mid to late 1800s based on other examples I've found.

DCMatt - Your piece is awesome!

Here is another example below, and here is a link full of them: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Fraternal-Treasures__W0QQ_armrsZ1QQ_fsubZ6

Wow, this Masonic stuff has really become popular. I hope there is some kinda way to bring back the pic.

i have found out that there is not a pictyre under the glass there is locks of hair from the original owner . it would be nice to link this item to john haslet who owned the property i found this item. he was the owner in the 1700,s he was kild in the revaloutionary war jan 3rd 1777 he was one of george washingtons right hand men from what i have read so far

[ivan salis]

if "linked" that would be a banner ourstanding find indeed as it is I think its banner worthy

[Messick81]

i am working through the local museum to help track down more info

[Messick81]

[Bigcypresshunter]

Call that TV show. I think its called "History's Mysteries." I dont remember but they will investigate and make a TV show out of it. History Channel I think. Great shows. If they accept they may be able test the DNA for you.

[Messick81]

since last posted i have found out that john haslet was also very good friends with ceasar rodney which also was a mason. this history stuff is realy messin me up again thanks for any help with the i,d,ing
