there are no hallmarks on it any where but i did have it tested at an antique shop and it tested beter than 14kt

Very nice piece! I found one that is similar that dates in the 1800's.

The center of yours may be a hair locket - especially if it is older than late 1800's (before photography).

i have found out that there is not a pictyre under the glass there is locks of hair from the original owner . it would be nice to link this item to john haslet who owned the property i found this item. he was the owner in the 1700,s he was kild in the revaloutionary war jan 3rd 1777 he was one of george washingtons right hand men from what i have read so far

we are getting closer . the museum has connected cesar rodney george washington and john haslet together and one of them was a mason we are still checking. and again thanks for all the help. and cable has also given some very good leeds thanks again

Call that TV show. I think its called "History's Mysteries." I dont remember but they will investigate and make a TV show out of it. History Channel I think. Great shows. If they accept they may be able test the DNA for you.

since last posted i have found out that john haslet was also very good friends with ceasar rodney which also was a mason. this history stuff is realy messin me up again thanks for any help with the i,d,ing

george washington was without a doubt a mason as was just about all of the "founding fathers" by the way . :wink: ;D
