I haven't been able to locate the mark for this piece. It appears to be an oil lamp with the letters H and N or M (or any combination of the 3) on either side of it. Here is the mark...

just a thought
the numbers look stamped, but the lamp image looks like its a positive image, telling me its cast - IMO
Either way, its great piece

If you could give us a full-size pic of the back of the piece, I'd like to see what the letters actually look like. :icon_scratch:
Also, if you could take another pic of your piece from the front with it standing up.

The dimensions would also help,
Dave

Beautiful cast piece and I tried searching for any clues as to who and where it may have been made. If you're up to selling it, you might just have to let the piece speak for itself by it's lovely detail and wonderful old patin. More than likely it's from a foundry that was short lived and made very few items.

Possibly a match holder. Or a place to put a used match after lighting an oil lamp.

Is that a lamp for sure? kind of resembles a whisky still which would be associated with a copper fabricator.
