Need some help. Sc area.

I have 2 streams that run through my property and have found lots and lots of quartz. I'm new to prospecting. I bought a couple of pans but not sure where to start. Any help is appreciated.

I'm in the slate belt very close to a couple of mines. With all the quartz on my property there has to be a source. Really wish I was more familiar with these kinda things lol

Knowledge is a big part. Read as much as you can and ask as many questions as you want. There's a lot of knowledge and experience on this forum. I've been prospecting over 35 years and I still have a lot to learn.

Youve definately got some nice rocks there. Bottom left looks like smokey quartz. Can't really see it that well to be sure.

Perfect formed crystals yes. You can get a few bucks for them.

heres a few pictures of the area i found the smokey quartz. i dug a little(about 2-3 feet) in the area my girlfriend is standing and came up with nothing.

Pretty new to this myself...went up to Lancaster county once ....found some fines and flakes panning. Can you give me any ideas where to go in this state with pan or metal detector...thanks...Rascus

That's the area I go to (in Lancaster county) some great spots if you can get permission to prospect.
