Hello fellow treasure hunters,
Today was the first day to try out my Ace250, meet up with friends (non-treasure hunters) and headed out to a cemetery to see the resting place of allegedly Dan or Ned Kelly.
The other reason was that there is a headstone angel who was seen to cry blood
(Note: NO metal detecting was done in the cemetery)
On the way back to the car a brown snake (extremely dangerous!) followed us, took a quick snap for you guys.
Then we head out to a ex-USA military out post used during WW2, I taught my mate how to swing a metal detector and he seemed to really enjoy it so we might have a new member soon
If you ever have the opportunity not to drive - TAKE IT! you have no idea how much you miss when you're concentrating on the road! I found a whole bunch of places to detect at, anyhow I was dropped off back home and friends went home, I went back to the ex military area myself for a couple of hours.
I found my first bullet, my first gold coin, my first really old nail, a bike chain? and 2 bits of iron.
I also spied some nice caves to check out, let me tell you now, its really hard trying to swing a detector in the bush!! trying to avoid hitting the coil on rocks and tress and avoid walking into spider webs whilst keeping an eye out for snakes! And in some parts it turned into rock climbing/metal detecting (left the detector on as you never know were you might get a signal hehe)
