Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Yesterday we drove around alot & found a small patch of failed oilseed rape & did a quick 1 hour hunt, not much but a Medieval Cauldron Foot.
Today we did 2 hours on a Celtic Site on the hill, not much again, just a Roman Nail & a nice Roman Domed Mount.
We then got a call from Land-mag (Cheers:thumbsup:) to say the new land was available, so after lunch we did 3 hours on this wintered stubble.
Finally some land worth gridding, there was lots of lead all over;

2 Roman Coins
Some good Buckles
Tudor Strapend
Roman Bronze & silver plated Key handle?
Bronze Age Fragment
Saxon Strapend:icon_thumright:
17th C Jetton:
Nuremberg Jeton of Wolf Lauffer II - UK Finds Database -
This jetton is a new type for my collection.

Looks like your initial hunt there was quite productive, and definitely enough to bring you back for a closer and more thorough look. My favorites are those two 17th century trapezoidal buckles.

Very nice Cru! A fine new spot to set up shop.

Hey! That was worth the effort!:occasion14:

From my view, it looks like a great hunt! Congratulations.

A good start on new land! Your finds cover a good time span. Nice jetton! :icon_thumleft:

Yeap, it's next to the silver holed siliquae field.

Excellent old buckles ! and a nice variety of finds - good stuff !

Congrats on some great finds as always. Look forward to seeing what else you pull out of that site

Curious how organized you are? For example it being a new jeton where does it go. Do you have a coin book just for jetons?

Good question. I don't yet but as like most things when it grows big enough I may get an album. At the moment they are sorted (somewhat) & bunched together in tiny drawers.

One day you're going to wake up and feel very overwhelmed. :) (but in a good way)

That site has some good potential! I like that Jeton!

Roman Coins picture added to top.

I wanna know when "The CRU- Daddy" archeological museum is opening. :laughing7:

Probably when I die & it all goes to display.

Congrats on the Saxon and Roman bits, and the excellent jeton. Some good detail on that one!
