Hello just registered, My name is Robert and I live in Yorkshire England. I started detecting about 25 years ago and have enjoyed every minute . Where I live you can, if lucky find stuff from celtic up to modern. The main thing for me is just to be out searching in the country side. I hope to be out searching tommorow but the weather forcast is poor lots of wind and rain. Here's a find from a few weeks ago. It's a Roman disc brooch from about the 2nd century, I found it on a field that iv'e searched many times over the years. Hopefully it will attach, please let me know if it dosn't.

Cheers
Robert.

Hey Rob between detecting and joining this site there wont be time to change your batteries ;D

Tell your family you love them before its to late :o

ITS TO LATE FOR ME BUT SAVE YOURSELF

Hi, Thanks for the warm welcome. The brooch is copper/bronze covered in gold gilding. Keep searching, here's a coin that is a recent find. It's a George 1 penny 1723 as anyone found this type in the states, copper doesn't come up in this condition very often in Yorkshire.

Good Hunting
Robert.

You nearly got the full Brit welcome.

Hi from another fellow UKer.

Tyre Kicker would complete the main set of Brits. He too is from Yorkshire. Nice place to live with the possibility of Viking finds.

I grow up in Killinghall (Harrogate). Spent alot of time at Brimham Rocks:

Excellent place to free climb.

I look forward to your posts. Please try & do what I do which is post everything however bad. I would like to see the different types of stuff you get.

Have you found any Stirrup Mounts, Terminals etc? I would be interested if you did as I study these.

Happy Hunting tomorrow. wrap up & weather it. Always worth the extra effort.

Robert,
Welcome to TN. Very nice old relic indeed.
Congrats,
MM

Thanks for the welcome

Hi , Thanks for the welcome. The brooch is copper/bronze with gold gilding decoration. Do I have to click on new topic each time I want to send a new message ?. Have any of you found an example of this coin in the states?, there must be plenty waiting to be found. It's a George 1773 Hibernia penny.

Cheers - Robert.
