I think its a button could we see a picture of the back for any backmarks ...will help ID the piece .

Thanks for the comment! I don't have it with me to make another picture. It is a lid of some sort. I thought maybe from a pill box or stuff box.

From what I can see it looks maybe oriental, I would say snuff lid. PS - when posting a picture , try putting something like a ruler or coin in the picture for size reference --

Appears to be a Geshia (sp) on it. I'm gonna go with a lid off some type of cosmetic item. And Welcome from North Central Illinois. 🙋
