Just started today with the hobby. Bought myself a BH QDP and got it yesterday. Me and my wife went to the local municipal park and she got all excited as we dugged over two dollars in change, a key,a button , and a cap pin along with some trash. I told her " The same way we find this we can also find gold and silver jewelry" she got all excited as I said and told me to get her a detector so I just got a Vaquero for $320.07 at the bay for her. I've heard good things of the Vaquero, was it a good buy getting her a Vaquero?

If you like the Bounty Hunter then yes, the Tesoro should be great!

Definitely a good move to get her a Vaquero. Don't be surprised if now she starts finding more than you. Then you will have
to get another Vaq. for you. Best of luck. Hope you find some gold soon.

Without a screen and tones, Tesoro's are unforgiving for new hunters. Just stay with it and the Vaq will all of a sudden open up to you. Tesoro's can actually sound different for junk and coins. But it does take a little more patience. Over the many years I have seen people discard Tesoro's because they just couldn't learn the language and dug more junk than anything. Learn the Vaq and you will have a deep seeking detector that will probably be handed down to your kids as it finds every treasure it sweeps over and leaves most of the trash. Personally, I would have opted for the Deleon. Small steps.

Received My Vaquero today this are the pics of today's hunt. We took the V and BH QDP my wife liked the QDP better so being the Gentleman I am we traded detectors cuz she likes the Digital Screen of the QDP......lol...I loved my new V. She found most quarters, dimes, and copper pennies but I found nickels, zincs, two religious pendants, two Mexican coins and a bunch of trash. I think I did well on this hunt since some gold hit as nickels, foils, tabs, and sometimes iron as I've been told so I'm covering everything in all metal and learning the Tesoro language as I use the disc knob on signals to id target. Love my Vaquero so far.

Yep. What I've been saying on the BH forum. The new BH Pros are great in the silver range. The gold range has problems.
